Hi I have a ss trailblazer 06 took engine out and put it in a 08 ss trailblazer. This is at a shop too not on my own. Now comes back crank sensor wont start what can be done

You probably do have a faulty crank angle sensor, change it and see if that fixes the problem.

the shop says it has something to do with reluctor wheel

Would like to know why they feel it is this or more commonly called the tone wheel, this is the segmented ring that rotates past the sensor which gives the sensor its pulse reading, normally the sensor is at fault, I would like to know there reasoning for their decision.

I would think that the problem is that in 2006 they used a 24x reluctor wheel and then in 2007 to 2009 they changed over to a 58x reluctor wheel. The reluctor wheels are pressed on, so the easiest way to rectify your situation is to purchase an adaptor that changes the signal of the 24x to that of a 58x wheel.
