AWD?

Does the AWD sign on a RAV4 2005 mean it never engages 2 wheel drive? In the same vein does the 4wd also on a RAV4 2005 mean it can be engaged from 2wd to 4wd and vice versa?

awd means it is in awd all the time there should only be h igh and low range if a shifter is available.4wd can be engaged either as 4wd or 2 wd.
