2005 Subaru WRX Overheating

Bought my car yesterday and had to drive it 3 hours back home. When I got back smoke was pouring out of the hood. I let it sit for an hour, and checked the fluids. It was bone dry on oil and coolant. I filled the oil and coolant and let it sit overnight. Checked the levels in the morning and they were still the same, and it has no leaks. Started her up and she ran fine. I drove for about 10 minutes and got onto a highway and my temps skyrocketed. It has a dual core radiator, stage 2 clutch, turbo back 3 inch exhaust and a front mount inter cooler with no tune. Please help me out. Thank you for your time.

Engines don't overheat that quickly from an overheating problem. The first thing to suspect or rule out is a leaking cylinder head gasket. There's a chemical test that can be done at the radiator to check for combustion gases leaking into the cooling system. That air can pool under the thermostat and prevent it from opening. Thermostats have to be hit with hot liquid to open.
