After 3000 rpms the car makes a whistle noise, how do i stop this noise?

The noise only happens while driving, not in park or neutral, it starts after 3000 rpms and gets less noticable around 5000 rpms but its still noticeable. i think its coming from the exhaust but im fairly clueless.
