my car makes a noise from the front shock absorbers I think when I go over a sleeping policeman. I got a mobile mechanic to see if they needed oiling.
he came, said they were ok, but I needed the track rod ends replacing and I think ball joints.
my car had passed it's MOT six weeks previously and there was no mention of the ball joints but an advisory on the track rod end said, there was slight play.
I had the work done and didn't drive it until the next day when a clunking noise started as soon a s I set off. there was no noise at all previously. the mechanic came back and said the anti roll bar linkage needed replacing. he has done this further work. I am puzzled how the clunking should have come on so suddenly, is it a cover up for not tightening up the track rod ends?

That's definitely possible but we weren't there to see if that's the case.
