I overheated my engine and after new head gasket it still wont run

I have a Nissan Caravan E25, Engine ZD30. The problem is that the raditor bursted and lost all the coolant, temperature rose before the engine went off on its own. I have repalced the burnt cylinder head gasket and the the engine has refused to turn on. What could be the problem?
