Cruise control

i have a 2005 nissan frontier and when i put the cruise control on the light on the dash turns green but when i set it nothing happens, tried several different ways of doing it. what could it be?

Check brake switch to ensure it is working correctly and pedal to booster push rod does not have excessive free travel.

If manual transmission, check the clutch pedal switch as well.

I would start from here.
