Is it necessary to replace camber bolts on wheels for proper tire alignment?

I just had all four tires replaced on my 2005 Kia Sportage. The repair shop told me the vehicle needed a wheel alignment badly and that I should also have the Camber bolts replaced for each wheels, for an additional $70 per wheel. I let them do the alignment. Is it really necessary to replace the Camber bolts?

Depends. If the stock bolts are in it, and they aren't eccentric, then there is no way to adjust camber on the vehicle. Turn the front wheels one way completely. Look at the bolts securing the strut to the steering knuckle. Do the washers look "strange", oblongated? Yes? They tried to scam you, OR maybe the eccentric has somehow broken.
