Just bought a 2005 Kia Sorento but the speedometer and odometer do not work. Please help. The previous owner had a mechanic replace the speed sensor about a week ago and this did not solve the problem.

chck to see if speed sensor is sending a signal to speedo it may need a dash cluster.

This code is for the VSS vehicle speed sensor , I would swap the sensor out and check the electrical connector at the sensor to make sure you are getting a good connection and that the connector or wiring is not damaged.

The error code P0502 for a 2005 Kia Sorento indicates a problem with the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Circuit.

Component Location: Right side of transmission.
