Hello,

Is sounds like the small vacuum line that goes from the engine to the firewall that feeds the HVAC system is broken here is a guide and a diagrams below to help you see what to do.

Hello, similar problem here.
In my 2003 liberty/cherokee 2.8crd air flow is stuck blowing from defrost+feet. It would still manage switch to the front vents every now and then until a few days ago, now it seems it's just stuck.
I have been looking for what could be wrong and I found no vacuum at all in the hoses shown in the pictures attached, what is going on?
(What is that component in the last picture?)

Thanks!

Hello Docfixit,
thanks for replying. Meanwhile I found a faulty check valve in a line between the brakes servo and the "tee" where it splits to hvac and to egr valve.
It looks like this could be the cause of the problem (on the other hand I just drove to like 4 replacement parts shops and ultimately to the local Jeep dealer but none of them has it!).
I hope I can find a fairly priced one on the web, including the shipment to Italy, then I'll see if it works.
