My rear wiper motor was replaced last year for blowing fuses.

The motor has stopped working again and parked itself full left instead of right.

I can turn on the rear wiper switch and manually rotate the blade counterclockwise back to the parked location. The blade will not rotate clockwise at all.

Maybe related, my washers also stopped working. All fuses checked and a scanner shows the stalk switches working.

Thanks

It sounds like the unit has gone bad again, which sometimes happens with replacement parts. Here are instructions on how to replace the rear wiper yourself in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Thank you for the prompt reply and I think you are probably correct. I replaced the factory motor just over a year ago and the warranty on the new motor was 12 months :-(

Are you aware of any type of interlock system that would stop the rear wiper and the washer system at the same time?

I did have the struts replaced 6 months ago which I think requires removing the fuse/relay/TIPM module to reach the top of the driver's side strut.

Thank you

Yes, the trigger for the rear wiper motor relay is controlled by the TIPM which has issues all the time. We can try a CAN scan to see if anything comes up. here is a guide and a video to show how, also i have included the TIPM replacement instructions which is easy because it self initializes, and I have the rear wiper wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.
