In the engine fuse junction box listed as R20 which is right below fuse 30.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

the starter is on right hand side or under intake manifold. if on right hand side will be on bottom near oil pan. we do not have a good picture of it. see pictures for removal and install is reverse of removal. the first picture shows O2 sensor on exhaust pipe you have either a 2.5L or 3.0L.

you may not have to do it i'll send this link but not sure if Jaguar is covered or not in it. If not look online it should be pretty easy or if you have a handbook it will be in there.

Hi,

You listed the engine is a 4.0L but I don't show that as an option. I have a 3.0L and 4.2L with and without a supercharger. Can you confirm which engine you have?

I attached the process for removing it for these engines and it does not have you remove any other components, so it is possible. What tools are you using to try to get it off? Clearly you are using hand tools but is it just a wrench or are you using a socket and ratchet with extension, etc.?

How to Remove and replace starter? My understanding is the top bolt gives you problems to remove. Any suggestions on how I can make job easier for me?

It's a bit tight but a short wobble extension and stubby ratchet will help once you break it loose. It's a gear reduction unit with the rear bolt tucked in pretty good.

To remove you disconnect the batt. neg. Then jack and stands to get it up in the air, remove the batt. lead off the starter, then the start lead. Then the mount bolts. Starter will rotate down and out. Reverse to replace. Watch out when you put the leads back on, they are not hard to twist in the housing.

2 The lower one is out in the open, the other one is tucked in behind the starter. The good thing is that starter is a small unit and easy to remove once the bolts are out. You can use a long extension and a universal to get at the top bolt.

Engine Mechanical problem V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 110000 miles

I am attempting to change the starter motor in the car. Looks like the nut at bottom of starter motor was welded by factor. This is the same nut/bolt that the negative cable was attached to. Is this normal?

I don't want to strip the bolt. Will not move.

Is there an easy way to get to the top bolt of starter with out taking most of the car a part?

Help, stuck

the lights come on and so does the radio. The battery is not the issue. when I try starting the car it clicks so I am assuming it is either the alternator or the starter.
