Exhaust system red light - low power

While driving a red light came on saying EXH. System and truck wouldn't go over 10 miles we stopped and took out the air filter now it will not go over 50 mph and the red light is still on... Can anyone help?

I believe the light deals with the exhaust system. However, what exactly set the light to come on is another question. My guess is it deals with the catalytic converter being partially plugged which would cause a major power loss.

you hit the nail on the head the cat was almost completely plugged, all set the truck is running great cost me $430.00
