Whether letting it idle on own or revving it, will still shut off after same time amount. I just did some 'routine' maintenance to prevent any problems on an up-coming road trip. I replaced the drive belts, timing belt, alternator, and installed a K&N Intake kit. Also did a motor oil, coolant, and MTF change. The car starts quickly as usual every time, but seems to shut itself off after almost 2 seconds. Doesn't matter whether 500 or 5,000 rpm. The engine is a 1.7 liter SOHC where is the crankshaft sensor?

Okay can I ask if the security light is flashing next we will need to run the codes. It looks like the crankshaft sensor fixed his problem here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when changing the crankshaft sensor.
