I noticed a ratting noise in the engine on cold start . This sounds like the noise is coming from the front engine. The rattling noise dissipates after the engine warms up.

my chevy van v6 sounds the same. it only does it in cold weather. goes away as it warms.

for me i consider it strictly cold related and no real problem.

Have the drive belts checked.

Such noises are common when drive belts ages and hardens. Check belt tension as well.
