I have a 2005 Yukon XL SLE with 80000 miles. 5.3 L V-8. I am experiencing a shudder anywhere between 45-60 MPH. This happens when I am getting at my cruising speed and seems like it is trying to shift into OD but feels like it is going in/out of OD. Transmission was repaired but still having same issue. Additionally, we checked all wheels for proper balance and warping. What can possibly be causing this issue?

Is the transmission actually going into OD? What was done to "repair" it?

The transmission does shift into OD after I push through 60. If I stay in the 50-55 mph range, it shudders and shifts in and out of OD. If I accelerate to 65+, of go down to 45 or below it stops. Additionally, it happens when going uphill more often than when traveling on flat terrain. Transmission was serviced (oil and filter) and replaced u-joints.

To me it sounds like a bad TCC solenoids that locks the converter up for overdrive. That is where I would start. Also, you mentioned you had it in or repair. What was done to it?

Transmission was serviced (oil and filter) and replaced u-joints on drive shaft. No other repairs to transmission.

Other than a service, nothing was done to the trans. Based on what you have discussed with me, I would recommend having the TCC checked.
