compressor and serp belt needs replaced. we have been told by one mechanic that there is no way to bypass the compressor. I have read online that a few ppl have taken out the compressor and used a smaller belt. We asked the mechanic if he could remove the compressor and use a smaller belt, but he said no, that there's not a smaller belt for a ford taurus. I do not want to repair the compressor b/c I only need this car another 6 mths. Is there anyway around this?
