I recently had my 05 focus estae m.o.t'ed, it passed but only just on the emissions test. The mechanic thinks it is probably the catalytic converter and quoted £500. Before I agree to this, could there be something else causing the emissions? I have very recently noticed it has become a little bit juddery, and seems to have lost a little bit of power. Any advice would be grately appreciated.
