I have a 6.0L Diesel 05 Ford 4X4 F350. When I first start it in the morning etc, when it's cold , it blows a lot of blue smoke for about the first 5 or so minutes and it smells really rich. Do you know what this could be? I have heard you can put synthetic oil in it and that will take care of the problem. It's had the EGR problem has been taken care of and it has all new injectors. We just bought it and don't know much about it. Seems to run and drive great.

could be the valve seals that are worn or the turbo may be wearing out.

have a truck shop check it for you to confirm. synthetic oil will not fix it.
