I have a whistling noise coming from the front passenger side of my 2005 Ford Escape V6. I thought it was a bad pully but I replaced it today and the noise is still there. I even checked ot without the belt back on and the noise is still there. I did notice that there is a leak around the front main seal. Could that be making the noise? It only makes the noise with acceleration and once the vehicle gets to speed the noise seems to stop.

ok, there are 2 but they use whats called cam syncronizer. they are common for for noises like the belt. it will also cause driveability issues.

have it checked to verify

Are these not located on the top side of the engine? The noise I am talking about is coming from the passenger side down on the side of the engine.
