I have a 2005 ford escape 3.0 that throws lean codes on both banks. smoke test, iac, maf, vacuum lines, egr valve, dpfe, egr solonoid, throttle body, upstream o2 sensor, fuel pressure, fuel filter, alternate gas, injectors, etc. have all been tested/cleaned, or replaced. vehicle will start, runs rough for a half minute then stall. if able to drive it by feathering, it dies while driving. Unplug the maf and it runs pretty good with a miss going down the road. everyone including ford dealer is stumped. any ideas? thank you.

check for a vacuum leak including duct work and poor engine grommets an d possible egr system partially blocked. If vacuum below 15" at idle suspect clogged exhaust

Thank you for your reply.

First thing checked and verified with smoke test - was vacuum leak. No leaks. Vacuum manifold pressure checked. Also, no blockage in cats.

I'm sure the fuel pressure has been checked with a gauge but it should be 39 psi minimum also see pic for other problems leading to this......which includes air leaks prior and after engine running.(intake AND exhaust). Having run into this problem before like not being able to find the cause sometimes something simple is overlooked. like leaky injectors.

so when a gauge is put on then it doesn't leak down more than 5 psi after 1 minute. other than that you'll have to check all the things that were sent in second pic as well as pic I'm sending here. oh ya if the engine oil hasn't been changed along with filter that will do it as well.
