2005 ford escape 2.3L. radiator cooling fan constantly runs and drains the battery, hook up jumper cables and the fan starts,i replaced the sensor in fuse box under the hood and solved the problem for 3 days and now it is back on.no longer under warranty (suprise) and the joke dealer in my area acts stupid and says you have to leave it and we will charge you 123.00 just to look @ it.

99% of the time it's a $20.00 ect sensor, usually mounted on or near the thermostat housing, try unplugging it to see if the fan stops.

As Jess said the relay is under the hood follow the positive cable from the battery, it will take you right to the junction box you need, under the cover may be a nomenclature diagram, or it's ID'ed in the owners manual
