Hello,

The cooling fan relays are located under the hood in the PDC. Here is a guide to help you test the relays and the location in the diagrams below:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-an-electrical-relay-and-wiring-control-circuit

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers

My car started to overheat and they state that it is because something is shorting in the fan and it is causing a fuse to blow that runs the fan. Is it necessary to replace the entire fan and motor or just the motor?

Hello,

Unfortunately on newer vehicles you have to replace the entire assembly.

My car over heats and my A/C does not get cold no more. I replace the thermostat and the sensor and the relay fuses and my fans still do not turn on. I bypassed it to the battery and they turn on but still overheats and A/C does not work. What is the problem?

Could be the computer controlled of the fan relays.

They are separate areas. Check fuses and relay for cooling fan. If those are okay it might be your coolant temperature switch. Have it scanned for codes if fuses and relay for A/C are okay.

When engine comes to temperature, the radiator fans do not come on. Fans never come on when engine is shut off, either. Engine overheats.

Hello,

To better assist you is your model a ES, RT, SE or SXT? Also can you give me your engine size in liter?

Please go to AutoZone or O'Reilly's and for free they can pull the codes to the car. Most important: Once they check your codes, if they find something and you do not get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that. While there for free also they can bring their tester out and check your battery and alternator.

Next, start the car when the engine is cool and hood open and AC is off. The fans should not turn. Next, with the car running, turn the AC on high, do the fans come on then?

When my electric radiator fan comes on, it is making a loud noise. Especially when the AC kicks on. I wanted to know if it is the fan motor that is going bad or something else?

Our car overheated and we learned that both fans (radiator and AC)are not turning on. Also, when our car overheat the A/C does not work either. We replaced the thermostat, the temperature sensor and the PCM. What do I do now? How can I check things? Help!

The fastest test is to bypass the radiator fan relay to see if the fans run. You can pop the cover off the relay and squeeze the contacts or you can use a piece of wire or stretched out paper clip to connect terminals 30 and 87 in the relay socket.

Remove upper radiator crossmember.
Disconnect radiator fan electrical connector.
Remove fasteners and upper clip attaching fan assembly to radiator.
Remove radiator fan assembly by lifting upwards.

Radiator fan stays on when car is off I have to undo battery cable every time I get out of car. When driving the fan sounds like it will fly off it goes so fast.

Also I hear a kind of squeezing noise and metal on left back.

And when going over 35 mph the car jerks back and forth and also when going over bumps you can tell there something thumping.

I think it is the ball joint.

As far as the noise, check all steering components and rubber bushings. Commonly, these vehicles have issues with strut plates and stablizer bushings.

As far as the radiator, remove the fan relay from under the hood in the power distribution box. Switch it with a different relay that has the same part number. Let me know if that fixes the problem.
