I have a 2005 pt Cruiser with a 2.4 liter standard transmission. It has 137777 Miles on it and recently I have been hearing noises and would like to get it fixed. When I speed up it is fine but as soon as i let off the gas pedal it starts to make a weird noise. It will continue (Even in neutral) until i push the gas pedal. I feel the vibrations on the shifting knob. Sometimes if I'm going slow and let off the gas and push in the clutch all the way the sound will go away, but if i'm on the high way the clutch does not do anything to the sound. it cannot be the clutch cause I have just replaced it. Sometimes it is hard to get into the gears. I know that the motor mounts are going bad and are buying new ones to replace the but i don't think the motor mounts can be the cause of this noise. Please help!
