2005 chrysler pacifica 3.5 liter. I have a wax smell coming from the heater. I have checked the engine compartment and found no smoke and nothing seems to be touching the block or exhuast manifold. I also checked under the car and nothing on the exhuast system. Could this be the heater core and if so how do I check if its bad?

The heater core, if leaking, will produce a sweet smell (coolant). Have you checked the blower motor resister to see if everything looks good there?

Thank you for your quick response. Can you tell is the blower motor resister on the motor on the passenger side or under the hood. I checked my Chilton manual and could not find it.

It is under the dash on the passenger side mounted in the HVAC system near the blower motor.
