2005 Chrysler 300 Radiator fan problem

2005 Chrysler 300 Problem with radiator fans. Got a slight burning plastic smell from the ac. Checked and found the passenger side fan was not turning, and there was a small amount of smoke coming from that fan. Drivers side fan turning fine. Not overheating. Ac isn't blowing cold now. I thought the fans were on a serial relay so if one went out so did the other.

Any ideas?

If there is smoke coming out of the fan motor, there isn't much question that it needs to be replaced.

Thanks for responding.

Would the fans going out cause the ac not to work? I've had problems with the fans before. That time they both quit, and the ac worked fine. Now just one has quit, and the ac doesn't work. The fan is an easy fix. I just want to make sure there isn't a bigger problem.

Yes, the fans are required to cool the condenser for cold air. Running the AC with no fan will cause extreme high pressures and will do severe damage to the AC system eventually.
