rough idle then truck goes into reduced power mode at idle and throws P0068, P0017 and P0102 codes.

I have replaced throttle body with sensors, gas pedal with sensors and MAF.

Hey,

Bummer, the first code is the problem. Can I ask if the oil has been changed recently?

Please let us know.

Cheers, Ken

Hmm. is the engine making noise like a timing chain guide has let go? Can you take a quick video of the engine running and upload it here? That way we can say for sure the timing chain/camshaft actuators need to be replaced. I can give you diagrams on how to do the work if this is the problem which I think it is.

Nice work on the videos. It sounds like the engine has no oil pressure. Is the oil light on? Also what weight and brand oil did you use?

If everything checks out the engine will need to come apart to check the timing chains and camshaft actuators.

Here is a guide on how the actuator work

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-camshaft-variable-valve-timing-works

There are balance shaft guides and chains that go out in the rear of the engine as well. Can you tell if the noise is coming from the rear or the front of the engine it is tough to tell by the videos, sounds like front.

Here are diagrams to help you see how to do the job.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Cheers, Ken

From what I can tell its coming from the front. I use 5w30 quaker state. the oil light isn't on. any idea how much this would cost if I didn't do it myself?

It should run about $1200.00 for the front timing chain depending on what they find when they get in there. Please let me know and get pictures of the broken parts. Be sweet for the thread

Engine Mechanical problem 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 33500 miles

when starting truck this morning, it started but ran "rough" with some shaking vibrating going on. Also the engine light come on. Warmed up with it running rough but when I went to go ... it would barely move, pedal totally to the floor. It would not go ... then it started to flash on dash "Reduced Power". Would not even pull itself out of driveway wish is like a 5 degree incline.
