That light is for a lack of pressure, not level. It means stop the engine immediately. Serious damage can result in just a few seconds. I'd start by having the actual oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge. If it is okay, the main suspect is the sending unit. If the actual pressure is real low, there is already damage to the engine bearings.
