2005 Chevrolet Tahoe rides rough

So here's the deal. My family has planned a road trip to Seattle in a couple weeks and my wife is telling me she doesn't want to take my Tahoe because it rides too rough. Her sister has a 2013 Tahoe and of course it is much smoother. I can't afford a new vehicle, so I was wondering what I can change on my Tahoe in hopes it will ride smoother? I replaced the tires earlier this year. I don't know anything about shocks/struts/etc, so I'm hoping for some guidance, and suggestions to try and remedy the situation. Any advice appreciated.

Have you checked the shocks? Does the car bounce excessively? Are the tires on the vehicle the OEM size?

I have to be honest, this is a truck. Actually, I have always thought they rode good. If the shocks are good and the tires are the OEM size, there really isn't much you can do. At this mileage, I doubt that the coil springs are bad. But, does the vehicle still seem to sit at the height the vehicle was when you got it?
