I had a front end overhaul done, a few months ago, and just today while in 4wd, the front end started making a high pitch noise, that almost sounded like a belt, but it stopped when i disengaged the 4wd. Any thoughts ?

hard to say. it could be the transfer case. something inside. no info to go on here. have someone with a trained ear to listen and give you a direction.
