I would guess that the 2002 is the same as a 2000. With that said, there are two screws that must be removed. One is on the door skin at the interior door grab handle. The second one is under the power lock/window panel on the door skin (you have to remove the panel should just pull off). Then you have to pop off the small tri-angular trim piece at the top/front of the door skin (by the bottom front of your window). Then the door skin just lifts straight up and out (you may have wires attached to the back of the door skin for speakers and courtesy lights if so equipped). The only tool you need is an 8mm socket to remove the two screws.

Check out how the door panels are attached to the car. Most panels use screws and bolts but others have snap-in fittings. Gather all the tools you need for removing the door panels. If the panel is attached with screws and bolts, you need a screwdriver or ratchet and socket. Car door panels with snap-in fittings are easily removed with a flathead screwdriver.

Unfortunately it has that harness, or you would probably only have to remove the upper extension. That upper extension(triangle) is held with three clips, and just pulls away. There are two procedures on trim panel removal based on options. here are both. Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (SLT, A95)

https://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/309872_1665428_1.jpg

Callout Component Name Preliminary Procedures Remove the door upper trim panel. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement. Remove the door window control switch. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement - Driver Side and Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement - Passenger Side. 1 Front Side Door Locking Rod Knob Assembly Tip Lower the window. Ensure the locking rod is in the unlocked position. Use a flat-bladed tool to disengage the detent tab and then remove the knob by pulling upward. When re-installing, push the knob down until the detent tab touches the locking rod opening cover. Push the detent tab in to lock the knob to the locking rod. 2 Front Side Door Trim Panel Cover 3 Front Side Door Trim Panel Cover Retainer (Qty: 3) 4 Front Side Door Inside Handle Bezel Cover 5 Front Side Door Trim Panel Bolt (Qty: 3) Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section. Tighten 9 N ·m (18 lb in) 6 Front Side Door Trim Panel Assembly Tip Disconnect the electrical connectors. There are 2 hooks located on the lower portion of the door trim panel that are being used for service and manufacturing installation. If these hooks are damaged during either removal or installation of the door trim panel, replacement of the panel is not required. When installing the trim panel start at the lock knob, pushing down and outward moving toward the upper front. 7 Front Side Door Cable Retainer Tip Depress both tabs to remove cable and pull cable rearward out of handle assembly. When reinstalling cable make sure that it is fully seated past the guide tab. 8 Front Side Door Trim Panel Retainer (Qty: 12)

Make sure all screws are removed, carefully remove the clips between the pane and the door and it should come off. There is a special tool for the clips, but if you are careful, it should come apart without damage. Just do not force anything, take your time, and you should be fine.

There is a tool to remove the handle all that is holding the handle on is almost like a pin the tool pushes the pin in and you can then just pull off the window handle. You can get the part at any auto parts store or even a car audio place since they are commonly used in the installation of new door speakers also.

I have recently purchased the above truck 4x4 extended cab model and the interior door panel courtesy lights do not work on either door. The interior overhead and floor lights operate correctly when the doors open and close. They also work correctly when the interior lighting switch s turned on, but neither door panel lights work in this manner either.

I would like to know if the light bulbs can be changed without removing the door panel and how can this be done? Can the light lens be removed without breaking them or is there any other way to change the bulbs?

Thank you for your assistance in advance,
Steve Wilson, Sr.

Steve,

The lens cover should just pop off. It should just be clipped into place. Carefully try prying on one to see if it will come loose. I believe it should.

there is a small triangle shaped panel at the top of the door panel. It is directly behind where the mirror mounts.Just grab hold of it and pull.Once it is off, there is a large piece of foam that you need to pull out.You will then see 3 nuts that hold the mirror on.They will require a 10mm socket.
