car noise from front passenger side near tire

We checked the brakes and pads and even blew the dust off. Now we hear a high pitched noise even when we are not braking. It isnt all the time but is worrisome. I think it is near the front passenger tire or under the hood--not the engine.

It sounds like it may be a belt

On the brake pads, there is a sensor. Its purpose is to let you know when the pads are getting low. I have seen them get bent and touch the brake rotor while the brakes are still good, so check that. Also, check the backing plate behind the rotor. Make sure it isn't bent or rusted and rubbing the rotor making the noise.
