Hello,
I own a 2005 Chevy Express 2500 Cargo Van. The Van started to run rough, shake, and the check engine light came on, was really loud, and had a code of p300. I took it to a repair shop and they suggest to replace the engine with a rebuilt motor. I paid for the service and now 7 months later the same code pops up p300. The mechanic said that I have a blown head gasket and now possibly a clogged Catalytic converter and that coolant leaked into the engine and burnt the gasket or head. I am not a car guy and don't understand much of this. I do however understand that i paid $4600 to have a "rebuilt" engine put in instead got a used engine and now I have the same problem as I had before. Is this directly linked to the 1st service of having the engine rebuilt. I would think they would check a rebuilt engine before putting it in.
Please advise.
