clicking sound on passenger side?

Try turning the recirculation on and wait and then turn it off.See if the noise changes?

Changing any of the settings on the heater or AC does not effect the noise.

Your going to have to trace it down to its source and we will go from there.

sounds like the motor that controls the recirculation when it starts to go bad it wont cut off it just keeps going a quick way to find out if this is the problem is to take the piece of plastic off of the front of the windshield where your windshield wipers are and then look in the little vent and see if you can see the piece of plastic that is moving it will be on the passenger side i had the same problem until i took out the passenger airbag and unplugged the motor in recirculation the pic is the sensor and the flap that is probably making the noise

Also i have had customers with broken recirculation doors cause the same thing to happen where the recirculation servo keeps running.

My question is when I start my car a very loud clicking noise is coming from under my dash board. It is not in the dash but i believe the back of the engine near the dash. The car seems to be fine when engine is on but just that noise. I am hoping it is not an electical problem because it sounds like something unplugged or fell apart. My friend who drove the car says whe can smell a faint smell of burn. Please if you can give me some sort of an idea before i take it in to maybe see what I am looking forward to fix.

sounds lik there is a relay acting up. reach around under the dash when it is doong it to pinpoint the click. let me know what you find and Ill see what i can do to help

The control cable for heat control was bent, straightened it now clicking noise in fan area what is this

Could be the blend door actuator

is this in behind the fan motor ?

hmm...im looking at photos of the hvac assembly (what I can find). I think the only motor you have is the recirculation motor. Its located on the very top right of the assembly. you can try and drop the fan motor just to maker sure it isnt something caught in the fan making the noise.

My 2004 Chevy cavalier started making a loud sound, two different mechanics told me different things, one said serpentine belt and tensioner, the other loose timing chain, it does not make the sound always only about 1 our of 10 times I start my car or less, it is a2.2 engine, 150 k miles.

when the sound is present remove the serp belt and start engine if noise is still present it's the timing belt. if noise is gone its the serp

i have a clicking noise in the right side of my dashboard it clicks when i turn the key car does not need to be running to make the clicking noise

Chances are it is a relay.

Chances are that is it. Check behind the glove box. Determine which relay is making the noise and see if replacing it fixes it.

took it to the mechanic and he does not know what it is but ruled out it being a problem that would stall me on the side of the road...he called 3 other mechanics including a friend at chevy ...still nothing

When i shut my car off I hear this clicking for about a minute or so coming from under the hood?

Check the cooling fan, with car off and cold, spin the blades by hand, any noise?

No there is no noise coming from fan, also it doesn't make the clicking noise every time I shut car off, just sometimes. I took car to my mechanic and of course it woulnd't make the clicking noise while I was there, you know like going to the DR. and when you get there you feel better!

Sometimes the exhaust sytem and manifold will make tinny sounds as it cools off.

just recently, my car started to have very noticeable clicking when i turn left and right. i can even feel it as it happens be it through the steering wheel or simply the floor and pedals, and it almost dissapears when the car is warmed up. i have suspicions that the ball joints are failing.

More than likely the CV boots are leaking lubricant and the joints are running dry. The clicking is more noticeable when turning.

Jack up car, put on stands and inspect the inner and outer CV boots for cracks and leaking lubricant. If you see any the CV axle will have to be replaced.

To check the ball joints, (car on jackstands), grasp the wheel and pull/push both horizontally and vertically, looking for any movement. If there is movement, it's the ball joints, bearings, tie rod ends.
