they shold have an electrical plug behing it why not fix the proble m it ma be just a bad lighter or you are tring to draw tomany amps form that.that shold be seperate from dash lights anyhow you probalby have a horted wire for dash lights or something was recently installed an dthere was a drill fun through the harness.
