I can not figure out a noise...I'm not much mechanically inclined so just bare with me! The sound I hear is a crackling sound...imagine taking an aluminum can and slowly crushing it! It only occurs when I accelerate in drive and reverse...the faster I go the sound is louder and faster...I have check the driveshaft u joints...the back plates (whatever is behind the rotors) I have a video of the sound but I can't upload it...Any clue on what this could be? Thanks

I'd start with an inspection at a tire and alignment shop. They're real good at finding noise causes.

There is a tool you might be able to borrow or rent from an auto parts store that borrows them called the "Chassis Ear". It is a set of six microphones, a switch box, and headphones. You clip the microphones to suspect points, then drive around while listening with the headphones. You can move the microphones around to zero in on the source of the noise. Be aware that many mechanics have never seen or even heard of this tool. Suspension and alignment mechanics use it to find rattles, squeaks, and other noises.
