When I start the engine, I get popping, clicking noises out of the dash for a few minutes while the auto temp controls are adjusting. I continue to hear these noises any time the temp changes or is adjusted. I never heard these noises until the dealer worked on the AC. The dealer says I will just have to get used to them. Is he right?

I am not Cadillac savvy, but if the noises were not there before the work, I would certainly be going back, perhaps with a bit of an attitude, to have an explanation as to what the noises are and why they showed up after they did whatever it is that they did. If the explanation seemed reasonable, then I suppose I could let it go, but the "you will have to get used to it" response aint working for this kid, at all!

Thanks for the reply, Dr. Hagerty. After 3 attempts and a display of a real "attitude" I finally have an appt. next week for a repair. The car is "certified" but I'm beginning to suspect that "certified" is only as good as the dealer.

It took 5 trips to the service dept but I finally got it fixed. They agreed to honor my warranty which required them to furnish a courtesy car & do the necessary repairs. Took 2 days, but the car sounds normal now. The service manager actually admitted they were trying to stall me until the warranty ran out. Guess I didn't have to get used to it after all.

As a coach and an instructor, I always am amazed at the lessons life has for us when life shows up. I also almost always ask my students and those I coach (and am coached by) "What did you learn from this experience?" Not for the student alone, but for myself as well, because as my dad said "you can learn something from the dumbest guy in the world"
