when i started my car the battery light came on as i continued to drive home all dash warning light came on radio and nav turned off and on. when i turn on my deadlights all dash instruments go to zero as if not on.

It sounds like the battery is dead and the alternator isn't producing. Try charging the battery to see if the vehicle will start. If it does, take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them load test the battery and check the alternator. Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.
