2004 Subaru Outback trans shifting

Trans goes out of gear when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. You can let it set about 1 to 2 hours then go driving and it doesn't do it again for a while. I have changed the external filter and checked the fluid in the trans. and the level is above the hot level on the dip stick reguardless if the trans. is hot or cold. My question, could it be a senser that needs replaced, a possible fuse thats blown, a shifting selinode thats bad or is it a bigger problem? I don't have a code reader to help me. Any help would be greatly help me out with the wife, itS her car

auto arts can scan for codes for that but it sounds like you should consult with a trans guy they normally will scan it first anyhow.

I borrowed a code scaner from my work and scaned the computer for the codes and came up with 3. 1 was POO32, 2 was PO733, 3 was POO32. I called subaru and was told that POO32 was for Bank 1 heater air/fuel. Which I assume it's the o2 sencer, which has broken wires and no connector to harness. PO733 is a trans code but didn't specify which.

see pics for diagnosis but I really think from your description it's a mechanical thing as you are saying nothing about speedo not working right etc. 733 is called a gear ratio error which I'd think may be a clutch pak especially with the miles on it. you might also clean throttle plate on both sides and iac hole with choke cleaner for the tps . which may cause a problem but I don't think so. fluid level doesn't hurt it.
