I have a 2004 vue v6 FWD. When I start the car up it seems as though the engine shakes the car upon starting but once started at idle and during driving seems fine. Could this be a motor mount and if so I wonder which one?
I know I have a vibration noise also which is related to the flex pipe. Will live with that. There is also a noise when applying the brakes only. almost like a scraping noise similiar to the low break pad indicator rubbing on the rotor but the pads are good. The noise also acts like a tire with a bubble meaning it goes thump thump whith each screath and not a constant screatch when applying breaks. I have replaced the caliper pins and regreased them but this only worked for a temporary time.

Any suggestions to get this started?

to find out if its a motor mount try this:

With someone you can trust assisting you; with the hood open
have the assistant to set the park brake, hold the foot brakevery firmly, put the vehicle in drive and push the gas pedal moderately for about 1/2 second to see if the engine "jumps" up on one side more than what would be reasonably expected. (repeat this process with the vehicle in reverse as well)
If so, this is the side where the defective motor mount is located find that mouunt and redo the "test," this time paying close attention to that mount.
