I lost my old key to my Pontiac and went to buy a new one. They told me at the dealership how to program the key which takes approximately 30 mins to do. I tried several times and still the key is not programmed, it just reads starting disabled due to theft system. From what I was told you have to wait until the security light goes off before the car can start, but my security light isn't coming on at all. My rack and pinion messed up a while back and it was replaced with another rack and pinion, but the one that it was replaced with doesn't have a plug on it like the one that was taken off of my car had on it.
