I can't remove the key on my 2004 ML55, I have done all the obvious things, it isn't the steering lock. I know the shift has to be in P'ark'. It is nothing to do with the brake pedal, there isn't a shift cable to the ignition switch or the brake pedal.
I have tried the shift reset hole using a pen, it only allows me to move the shift out of P without the ignition on etc.
Having removed the shift leaver trim & now looking at the gate I see no way of getting to the whatever micro switch may be out of adjustment below the plastic housing that the gate sits in, assuming that there must be a micro switch below it? help.
