Yes, it sounds like the head gasket is blown.

The estimate I am giving you is based on a location and its labor costs. I use Bethesda/Rockville, MD. It is expensive to get repairs there as they are high-middle class suburbs of DC.
Sometimes the parts come in a little low as they will use OEM parts at a dealer and the prices are the best the program can find. Shops may also charge for environmental disposal and miscellaneous items used in the repair. The one I use at least takes where you live into account. If you live in a smaller town, that will drop the labor costs. The best thing is that the hours to fix the car are pretty accurate.

Parts $68.14
Hours of Labor 7.5
Labor Rate $75.00 (Dealership will be near $125.00)
Misc. Fees $25.00

Total Labor $562.50 Dealer Labor $937.50

$655.54 Dealer $1030.64

You may be able to find a smaller shop that specializes in Mercedes that will charge less for labor, but not much less.
