I drive a 2004 Mazda 6, recently I've noticed that the car is over-revving running the rpm's up but not accelerating. Any ideas where to start guessing? I had a tune-up and oil change, but didn't change the spark plugs because it would cost $300??

Check and test the idle air control valve and throttle position sensor- Have your transmission checked

I agree, it could be a throttle problem, air flow sensor.....If the motor revs erratically while in park or sitting at a traffic light. But, if the motor revs when you leave the light and the car is not moving or if it is not moving at a speed consistent will motor, your transmission is slipping. You will need transmission service.
