I have read that replacing the cv axles is a matter of removing the caliper and rotor and then using a "ball-joint fork" to release the ball joints , pulling the cv axle assembly out ,and put the new one in in reverse order . does this sound like the right aproach . Jesse

Plus you'll need a pry bar to push the lower control arm down. Be sure the jack stands aren't under it. Put them under the frame rails so the control arm is free to be lowered.
