the message center has an issue. you will need a dealership to acees the unit for the issue. it will most likely need to be replaced.

Thanks. It's my understanding this is something to do with the transition from night mode to day mode? Is there a sensor that deals with that and where is it?

Fixed it! There is a dial to the right of the steering wheel which has the daylight brightness for the dash. If this is locked to the right then the park assist is fixed in night time mode, regardless of day or night. Unlock that dial and the park assist will go back to normal - changing correctly for day and night.
