My vehicle listed above is making a weird noise in all 4WD selections. (Part Time, Full Time and 4WD Low) It's a low gritty sounding noise. I can't tell where it is coming from. Like middle front. Also, it doesn't matter what surface I'm driving on.

Good evening,

This sounds like the bearings inside the transfer case are worn out. It would be easier to replace the case rather than rebuild it.

Did you change the fluid regularly?

I attached a picture of the case for you.

I agree with Roy. However, have you changed tires recently? This is one of those vehicles that you have to keep all 4 tires the same size so if you recently changed 1, 2, or 3 tires then they are no longer the same size, even though you put the correct size on it. Basically, the tires that you did not change are worn and smaller circumference than the new tires.

This will cause the transfer case to make noise and eventually fail.

It will start by making noise and vibrating at different times and then eventually the noise will get worse before it just fails completely.

Please let us know this info and we can go from there.

Thanks

@kasekenny, I am driving a 2014 3.6 Laredo my vehicle has 1 different tyre compared to other 3. I hear the transfer case noise while shifted gears from P to D & R also sometimes when i slow down. Will change of all 4 tires solve the problem? I am based out in UAE haven't met any expert for this issue everyone guides continue to drive its ok, which i feel otherwise
