Check engine lights should not be triggered by the ABS, the two are likely unrelated. Pull the codes from your computer (you can borrow a code checker from autozone, etc.) to know where to start. The ABS/Traction control is usually due to a faulty weld in the ABS module meaning it is not receiving power. The ABS/TC failure does not affect normal driving and brake operation but may affect performance in extreme weather/driving. It could also of course be the wheel sensors or another fault, this is just most common.
