My dad bought me an 04 hyundai elantra. A clicking in the trasmission was discovered the day after we got it home. Three days later it overheated and was towed by the dealer that sold it to us. We paid 5100 for it. KBB sets the value, in excellent condition, at 3050. Should we get our money back and why??

If they will give you your money back i would get it back you paid way over kbb value. Also the problems your having with it.Just for the fact that you paid over 2,000 more then it was worth is reason enough.Only 5 percent of the used car's fall into the excellent condition.

Thanks for the quick reply! The only issue at this point is convincing my dad to get his money back. He is a very stubborn man that will not listen to me. Any suggestions?

It's his money and if he want's to pay way over value for a car with problem's then i really don't know what i could say to change his mind.I would think just paying over 2,000 more then blue book would be more then enough reason to take it back.To top it off the car has some issue's so good luck with your convincing him.Let me know how it goes.

why are you putting this on him? you know more than he does apparently? you should do the complaining/negotiating instead of taking the easy way out? it's YOUR CAR?
