Why won't the battery hold a charge when the alternator had been replaced?

Just replaced alternator and battery had been fully charged and all checks showed everything was ok

with the motor running, the voltage at the battery should be 13.7 to 14.5 volts.
if it is and your battery is good after a load test, you most likely have a draw on the system that needs to be checked from a shop.
